Maribel Pérez (née le 29 janvier 1976), mieux connue sous son nom de scène Belle Perez, est une musicienne et auteure-compositrice belgo-espagnole.

Née à Neerpelt de parents espagnols sous le nom de María Isabelle Pérez Cerezo, la chanteuse flamande a été découverte pour ses talents musicaux par Patrick Renier lors d’un concours local de talents en 1997 à l’âge de 21 ans. En 1999, elle a participé aux présélections belges du Concours Eurovision de la chanson et à partir de là, la carrière musicale de Belle a décollé. Elle a commencé dans la musique pop mais en 2002, elle a changé de style pour du latino/pop et s’est produite en live sur scène avec son propre groupe “Baila Perez”. L’album qui l’accompagnait a été un succès instantané et est resté en tête des charts belges pendant plusieurs semaines.

Depuis 2006, elle a atteint un niveau de notoriété relativement élevé en Belgique et aux Pays-Bas. Elle est également devenue présentatrice d’une émission musicale néerlandaise populaire entre-temps. Perez a participé aux sélections belges pour le Concours Eurovision de la chanson 2006, mais a terminé à la 3e place. Son dernier album Gotitas De Amor est sorti le 23 août 2006. En décembre 2006, elle a sorti son 4e single de “Gotitas de amor”, intitulé “Hoy (Le pido a dios)”, une ballade.

Le 5 mai, elle donnera un autre concert “Mega Latino” au “Sportpaleis” d’Anvers. Elle se produira devant environ 15 000 personnes. Selon certains articles sur son site de fans, elle prévoit de sortir un CD en Allemagne, Autriche et Suisse l’été prochain. Elle a déjà signé un contrat. Selon certaines rumeurs, “El mundo bailando” sera le premier single en Allemagne, Autriche et Suisse.

Avant l’été, elle sortira un autre single de son album “Gotitas De Amor” en Belgique et aux Pays-Bas qui sera “Amor Latino” et qui a atteint la position 11 en Belgique.

En juin 2007, elle a sorti son premier album “Gotitas De Amor” et le premier single “El Mundo Bailando” en Allemagne, Autriche et Suisse. Entre-temps, elle a enregistré un nouveau single intitulé “Djolei! Djolei!” qui est sorti le 15 juin 2007 en Belgique et aux Pays-Bas. C’est encore une chanson pour l’été à venir et elle vise à nouveau son prochain trophée Radio 2-Summer-Award en août 2007. Elle a également posé deux fois pour le magazine masculin FHM.

In 2008 Belle Pérez and her spouse Mario Winters, with whom she had been a couple as early as 1995 and whom she married in the deepest secret in 2000, broke up after an 8-year’s wedding. Some months afterwards Belle met 25 years old Dutch jewel designer Wouter van der Horst in Antwerp with whom she has been going steady until now.

Belle released her new album “Gipsy” in 2008 and made the top10 in both Belgium and The Netherlands. Appreciation in The Netherlands for her music grows and tours bring Belle more to there than to Belgium. In 2009 Belle celebrates her 10-year career. A book has been published containing her ups and downs in the last 10 years and a DVD has been released of a concert without any audience. At the same time a big concert was announced for the fall of 2009. However in September 2009 it was announced that the big concert originally planned is downsized: a smaller concert hall but a sold out crowd. Belle and her team state that she will go in a new direction with her music and that she wants to try new international adventures. She separates from her manager at that time, Patrick Renier, and goes on with Hugo Foets who also has been in the background.

For the second year in a row she is asked to be a special musical guest in the Holiday on Ice Shows. In 2008 she did them in Belgium, in 2009 in The Netherlands. After these shows she will focus on her new tour in The Netherlands: a theater tour “Latino Mundial”.
